Why do you love to teach dance?

Not everyone puts a lot of thought into choosing a San Diego dance school for their child but take the time to do your homework

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, we thought it would be an appropriate time to share why we do what we do here at Dance to EvOLvE. Every dance teacher is different but we all have the same passion for dance, teaching, and our students.

This love of dance is what keeps us going each and every week, ready to start class with a smile. Ahead of Valentine’s Day, we reveal why we love to teach dance…

Reasons why we love being a dance teacher

Brittany: “My students’ genuine smiles and fun keep me going every class. Beyond that, I love teaching because I can see how dance contributes to a child’s development. Dance builds personal character and develops life skills that children will always use.”

Laura: “Teaching dance is something I have always been passionate about. I begged my first dance teacher to let me start teaching when I was 12 years old. I’m completely blessed to be doing what I love to do. There is nothing better than helping others find their passion for dance. They learn from me and I learn from them.”

Abby: “I love teaching dancers because my students are making just as much of a difference in my life as I am in theirs!”

Sara: “Why do I love teaching?  That’s easy: I love watching the excitement, creativity, and confidence grow in a dancer every week. Seeing the passion for dance in young dancers is inspiring, and I love being able to nurture that.”

Tonya: “I love teaching dance classes because it’s the best feeling to see the kids having a smile on their face and the laughs…that’s what brings a smile to my face!”

Kristin: “Having the opportunity to share something that I love with my students and watch each and every one of them improve and grow into a beautiful young dancer is what fuels my motivation and passion for teaching dance.”

Jenny: “It’s when a dancer is excited to come to dance class, smiling, exclaims proudly out-loud when they have accomplished a new dance step, or reaches for my hand as we go across the floor… every day I’m reminded of how blessed I am to share what I love with my students!”

* Social distancing class structure and no-touch activities

* Masks for everyone 2+ years

* Smaller class sizes

* Temperature checks before class

* Classes are 5-minutes shorter to allow more transition time between classes to avoid crowding and to ensure cleaning of high touch surfaces.

Auto-Renewal & Registration Details Semester Option

10% DISCOUNT Semester Auto-Renewal Registration: (This option is only valid at the beginning of a semester as it is not prorated.) Dancers’ registration continues semester to semester until family requests to switch to monthly enrollment or to cancel. Cancellation notifications must be submitted to the EvOLvE office via email prior to the next semester as the credit card on file will be automatically charged prior to the next semester starting. Kid’s dance class cancellation requests cannot be submitted to teachers. NO REFUNDS after the payment has been processed.

Monthly Auto-Renewal Registration: Dancers’ registration continues each month until family requests to switch to semester enrollment or to cancel. Minimum dance class enrollment is one month. Cancellation notifications must be submitted to the EvOLvE office via email prior to the 25th of the next month as the credit card on file will be automatically charged around the 28th of each month. Dance class cancellation requests cannot be submitted to teachers. NO REFUNDS after the payment has been processed. Billed monthly on the 28th of each month. Monthly charge will vary depending if it is a 3, 4 or 5-week month.

Registration Details for Kid's Dance Class

  • Although payment is organized in semesters or sessions, classes are designed to be progressive and ongoing throughout the year. Simply re-register session to session.
  • If paying at the front desk, credit cards, check or exact cash are accepted.
  • Please note that the City recreation center does not prorate if registering for the dance class late. Take advantage of our flexible make-up policy if you missed a class at the beginning of a session.
  • A dancer's spot in the dance class is only secured with payment as enrollment is first come, first served through the San Diego recreation center. No dancer can participate in a class without payment. You must re-register your dancer from session to session (or semester to semester) to secure their spot in the progressive dance class.
