Timber Lanes
As the name suggests, this classic North Center bowling alley boasts eight wooden lanes. You’ll have to keep your own scores via pen and paper (Timber Lanes epitomizes old school). However, the cheap drinks, BYO food policy, and $3 games come the weekend mean you won’t mind too much.
Laugh Out Loud Theater Chicago
See a variety of improv shows almost every night of the week in North Center! Featuring family-friendly shows, drinking games for adults, storytelling, and more, there’s something for everyone at Laugh Out Loud Theater Chicago.
Chicago River Canoe & Kayak
The Chicago River is a secret gem – a green and winding playground for wildlife, lined by parkland – right in the heart of the city. Take a kayak trip along the Chicago River’s north branch after dance class for an hour or a whole afternoon. Our friends at Chicago River Canoe and Kayak offer a range of boat rentals and tours from North Center.
Revere Park
This lovely neighborhood park is a great spot to get stuck into sport: Soccer, volleyball, rugby are all on offer alongside tennis (there are four courts) and baseball fields. Revere Park runs an afterschool program for kids under five from 2-6 pm, Monday-Friday.
