Hands up if you are based in or around Point Loma? Well, we have some good news for you! Dance to EvOLvE classes – ranging from ballet to hip-hop take place in not one but two Point Loma locations. We are currently offering outdoor classes at the Basketball Court in NTC Park until the end of October when the situation will be revalued, as well as at indoor classes at The Dancehouse.

FOUR THINGS TO SEE AND DO IN POINT LOMA


Sunset Cliffs
This 68-acre park, known for its towering sandstone cliffs and untouched vegetation, is the ideal spot to drink in views of the Pacific Ocean at any time of day. However, as the park’s name implies, sunset is a popular time to visit and watch the sun do its incredible sinking thing. When in Point Loma, be sure to stop off at these cliffs.

Cabrillo National Monument
Learn about San Diego’s Spanish roots at the Cabrillo National Monument. Established in 1913, the monument commemorates Spaniard explorer Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo discovery of Point Loma in 1542.
Short films together with a ranger offer interesting insights into his history at the visitor centre. Then stroll to Old Point Loma Lighthouse. This landmark has been restored to reflect what lighthouse life was like for lightkeepers and their families in the 1800s.

Jimmy’s Famous American Tavern
When hunger pangs kick in, make for Jimmy’s Famous American Tavern. Affectionately known as J-Fat’s, this place specializes in American comfort food. Think juicy burgers (including plant-based burgers for those eschewing meat), fish tacos, and cherry cobbler. There is a dedicated children’s menu for your little dancers. Views of the marina from every seat are the icing on the cake.

Humpreys Half Moon Inn
Want to catch a concert? Head to Humphreys Half Moon Inn which hosts Humphreys Concerts by the Bay, San Diego’s premier outdoor concert series. Every May through October, nationally renowned acts take the stage in this unique concert venue nestled between the hotel’s private marina and tropical gardens.

10% DISCOUNT Semester Auto-Renewal Registration: (This option is only valid at the beginning of a semester as it is not prorated.) Dancers’ registration continues semester to semester until family requests to switch to monthly enrollment or to cancel. Cancellation notifications must be submitted to the EvOLvE office via email prior to the next semester as the credit card on file will be automatically charged prior to the next semester starting. Kid’s dance class cancellation requests cannot be submitted to teachers. NO REFUNDS after the payment has been processed.

Monthly Auto-Renewal Registration: Dancers’ registration continues each month until family requests to switch to semester enrollment or to cancel. Minimum dance class enrollment is one month. Cancellation notifications must be submitted to the EvOLvE office via email prior to the 25th of the next month as the credit card on file will be automatically charged around the 28th of each month. Dance class cancellation requests cannot be submitted to teachers. NO REFUNDS after the payment has been processed. Billed monthly on the 28th of each month. Monthly charge will vary depending if it is a 3, 4 or 5-week month.

Registration Details for Kid's Dance Class

  • Although payment is organized in semesters or sessions, classes are designed to be progressive and ongoing throughout the year. Simply re-register session to session.
  • If paying at the front desk, credit cards, check or exact cash are accepted.
  • Please note that the City recreation center does not prorate if registering for the dance class late. Take advantage of our flexible make-up policy if you missed a class at the beginning of a session.
  • A dancer's spot in the dance class is only secured with payment as enrollment is first come, first served through the San Diego recreation center. No dancer can participate in a class without payment. You must re-register your dancer from session to session (or semester to semester) to secure their spot in the progressive dance class.
