Dance to Evolve dance classes in Poway take place at the Mickey Cafagna Community Centre. Aside from our fabulous dance classes, there’s plenty to do in Poway!
Often described as the city in the country, Poway offers the best of both worlds. Here are five of our favorite things to do.
FIVE THINGS TO DO
Old Poway Park
Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the meandering pathways or a picnic with the family in pretty Poway Park. Planning on paying a visit at the weekend? Be sure to take a ride around the park on the Poway Midland Railroad and visit the Farmers Market on Saturday mornings to stock up on local and organic food.
Potato Chip Rock
No visit is complete without snapping a selfie in front of Potato Chip Rock. The iconic rock is perched atop Mount Woodson. To reach it, you’ll need to hike approximately 6.6 miles which will take you anywhere between three to five hours so be sure to pack plenty of provisions!
Blue Sky Ecological Reserve
This 700-acre canyon flanked by coastal sage scrub and chaparral-covered hills is a must-do when in Poway. The trails are open to the public and are free of charge. Along the way, expect to see a variety of flora and fauna
Farmers Market
For a pedestrian-friendly shopping experience, seek out Poway Farmers Market which takes place every Saturday from 8 am-1 pm. Local tea, coffee, homemade pasta, and fresh pastries are just some of the wares for sale.
Iron Mountain
Iron Mountain is one of the most popular hikes in San Diego. Along the way, you will see the various wildlife and plant life that make up the local San Diego ecosystem. Once you have reached the summit, be sure to soak in panoramic views from the high mountains to the Pacific Ocean.
