Dance to EvOLvE
Welcome - Dancing Information for New Kids in San Diego
Why do our dancing families choose Dance To EvOLvE?
Welcome to Dance To EvOLvE…we’re thrilled to have you a part of our EvOLvE San Diego dancing family! Hopefully you have already noticed, but we love what we do and are excited to share our passion with your dancer. (There will be plenty of smiling and laughing in dance class!) This video gives the highlights, but everything you need to know is below…read on!
Your Choices. Our Knowledge. Their Fun!
EvOLvE believes it’s thedance teacher that makes the difference. Each one is carefully chosen by their experience, passion, professionalism, and bubbliness! Small student ratios, curriculum goals, and ongoing teacher trainings create our progressive and age appropriate dance classes. All this ensures that your dancer is in the best learning environment possible. Our talented San Diego teachers create welcoming dance classes that balance learning with fun so that our dancers are always improving!
Who is your point of contact for San Diego?
Since EvOLvE has multiple locations, there is no traditional EvOLvE front desk. Your dance teacher is your direct point of contact but always feel free to contact us in the office. (Compared to the site’s front desk.) We love hearing from our dancing families. Where applicable: The only part of our dance program that we do not directly manage is payment and registration which is taken at applicable locations.
What should your kid wear to dance class?
We offer a flexible dress code with no specific required colors or outfits. Receive 8% off your first order with Discount Dance by using Dance To EvOLvE’s code TP35961. You will also find affordable dance clothes and shoes at stores such as Target, Payless, and sometimes Walmart, but they tend to be hit or miss. Local dance clothing stores are also an option but the prices will be more expensive. See more details on the importance of a dress code and dance shoes.
Registration information varies between sites because at some locations EvOLvE takes registration and at some locations, the site itself takes registration. To find the location nearest you and the registration information, please go to the neighborhood pages!
Need to make-up a dance class?
Class make-ups are allowed for sickness, family emergencies or out of town. A dancer has one month to make-up any missed class from the day he/she missed class. It can be made-up in any age appropriate class at any location that has availability. We appreciate an email prior to your make-up class so we can confirm the class has availability for an extra student. (We always want to maintain quality!) Make-up classes cannot be done in a dancer’s regular class. See schedule for make-up options. (Nobel Rec only allows Nobel Rec registered dancers to do make-ups and Poway does not allow make-up classes.)
What do parents do during class?
Please take your dancer to the bathroom before class.
YOU&me Movement & Music Dance Class: This is a parent/child interactive dance class so parents stay in the room.
Magical Munchkins & Baby Boppers Dance Class: Parents participate as needed and therefore stay in the room. (They need your love and encouragement throughout dance class.)
Tiny Movers, Beat Breakers, Star Shiners & Older Dance Classes: These are our big kid dance classes so parents watch from a distance outside of the room. Parents are not required to stay during class as long as you have signed-in your dancer on the clipboard.
When are parent observation days?
In addition to the spring dance recital in San Diego, EvOLvE hosts family observation days throughout the year. These are the days where families can sit inside their dancer’s room and take pictures and video until their hearts’ content. Know what to expect. Ask your teacher, check our social media, view the calendar or EvOLvE’s newsletter for our parent observation dates…and get your camera ready!

Is there a dance recital?
In addition to small in-class performances throughout the year, EvOLvE presents an annual dance recital in June that is encouraged (but not required) for age appropriate dance classes. For more information, check out our dance recital page and mark your calendars to ensure your dancer doesn’t miss out.
