Dance To EvOLvE
Outdoor Showcase in San Diego
The Benefits Of Performance
- Showcase is a fun experience that creates lifetime memories for every dancer and their family.
- The showcase allows dancers to fully experience a performing art and the unique feeling of being on stage.
- Preparing for showcase is a way for kids to work on memorization skills, rhythm, technique, teamwork, and much more...and they LOVE having something to be proud of.
- It gives kids the opportunity to perform in front of an audience in San Diego that will boost self-confidence in everything they do and develop important life skills.
- Family and friends get to see and celebrate what their dancers have learned during dance class.

The Benefits of Dance To EvOLvE's Annual Showcase
- Different participation fee options that include a performance outfit your dancer gets to keep and wear again and again!
- A one stop shop for parents! Dress rehearsals are scheduled directly before the actual show, to ensure convenience for everyone.
- Plenty of free parking!
- Volunteer opportunities in exchange for benefits such as free tickets and t-shirts (opens mid-March).
- Free reception after showcase.
- Showcase preparation starts in late spring as to not distract from non-showcase dancers and regular weekly lessons.
- We hold 2-3 mini-shows (approximately 1-1.5 hours each) compared to one very long show.
- Age appropriate movement and costumes.
- Dance To EvOLvE believes in providing students with a non-intimidating environment for a memorable experience (no hot or scary lights and no distracting effects).
Showcase Requirements/ Policies
- Participating dancers must be registered for class for the full spring semester. (We encourage students to register for classes earlier in the year so they can fully benefit from the class.)
- Showcase is a commitment for everyone involved (dancers, parents, volunteers, teachers, etc). Exceptions cannot be made and we encourage you to note deadlines to avoid late fees.
- The dress rehearsal is required for all participating dancers and will run the same day as showcase.
- Dancers are to be dropped off for dress rehearsal and will be supervised by class parents during dress rehearsal and show. Please plan accordingly.
- Please be on time for dress rehearsal check-in/drop off so that your dancer does not miss their chance to practice on stage.
- Attendance is especially important in May and June. Any student who misses three or more classes during recital season will be evaluated for their readiness to participate in the showcase.
- All dancers 2 years or older are welcome to participate in the showcase. (Magical Munchkin classes are at the discretion of the teacher.)
- For dancers 2 years or younger parents will be allowed to join them backstage during the dress rehearsal and performance.
- Dancers 3 years or older will be place in the care of a class parent backstage during the dress rehearsal and performance.
- Tickets are non-refundable. Seating is first come first served.
Register for Spring Classes.
While showcase is highly encouraged, it is not required as we know it is not for every family. The spring classes do spend a little more time working on choreography for showcase, but the dance class is still structured and highly beneficial to all dancers in class. If you are unable to do the showcase we would still love to have you in class!
*All dancers wanting to participate in showcase must be enrolled for the full spring semester.

The Fun Of Practicing At Home
HAVE FUN PRACTICING WITH YOUR DANCER AT HOME!
Teachers will create online videos so dancers can have fun at home, practice their dance, and build that extra confidence. (Videos posted beginning of May.)

"Joy walks around singing the song she learned in dance class and it’s adorable! Thank you for bringing so much happiness to all of us! This is Joy's first dance class and she is hooked."

"Miss B, you are just the best teacher. I feel like I have found Juilliard for my 4-year old. 🙂 I am telling all my friends as EvOLvE is the best program."

"I went for our first class and the teacher was amazing. Excellent! She is the best teacher I have ever seen. She did great with the kids, my girls wanted to take the class again as soon as it ended...they were disappointed to learn they would have to wait a week."

My daughter is constantly playing 'I'm Ms. Laura and you're taking my dance class.' She uses all the terms she has learned– passé, arabesque, heel-toe, etc. and leads her little sister, her dad and myself in a class, helping us out if we are doing a move incorrectly. She even gives us a sticker on our hand and a hug when 'class' is over. 🙂
